Laura Winters, LCSW
Thanks for visiting my website! It can be hard taking the first step towards getting help, but the good news is you are on your way to feeling better. Sometimes you may feel uncertain if therapy is right for you. If that's the case, call or email me so we can arrange an initial phone consultation and discuss your concerns. I'll be happy to explain how I can help or refer you to other resources.
Specializing in Prenatal & Postpartum Stress
My specialty is prenatal and postpartum stress, which includes Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMAD), infertility, and loss. PMAD refers to depression or anxiety experienced during pregnancy or up to a year after childbirth. Becoming a mother is truly a life-changing experience, full of surprises, challenges, and a variety of emotions. You may be blissfully happy one moment, and then overwhelmed and doubting yourself the next. Or you may be feeling mostly overwhelmed, sad, or anxious. I understand the stress that comes with motherhood and know how to help you feel better. Whether you are struggling with anxiety or depression, or are just not feeling like yourself, I can assist you in finding the best solutions and restoring your sense of balance.
Infertility & Loss
Sometimes the road to motherhood is different than what you imagined. You may struggle with who you can talk to about your experience or find it difficult to be in certain situations. Therapy can provide you with a safe, nonjudgmental place to talk about your feelings and concerns and help you to cope with this difficult time.
My approach to therapy is client-centered. Together, we will work on determining what the best steps are to assist you through this transitional time. I employ a holistic approach to therapy, incorporating techniques that honor the mind and body connection.
